470 years ago, Anne Boleyn was beheaded. She and King Henry VIII were noted for some of the feasts they put on, and while I'm not about to attempt to duplicate a fifteen course feast that took teams of cooks days to prepare, I thought a tribute to Anne with a modern re-creation of an English Renaissance feast was in order.

From a couple of the guests:

"I loved the whole experience Friday night - meeting everybody, the conversations, the dinner... It was a very warm and personable evening. And I was amazed at your kitchen - so orderly, as if nothing were happening. It was inspiring to see that. I have no suggestions for improvement. What could possibly be improved? The dishes were lovely - that salmon first course was beautiful. . And I was very interested in your wine selections, because you are a master sommelier and know what is really worth drinking. There are so many Argentinian wines, it takes knowledge and experience to wade through them... And at the end, I liked the way you presented the bill in the little box - quite charming and graceful." - B.H.

"Thank you for a delightful evening! Every course was mouthwatering, with the drizzled salmon and fantastic bread soup making happy preparation for delicious short ribs (which I wouldn't even begin to have an idea how to prepare) and a perfect dessert!  The wine was well matched. I'm not much for sweeter wines, but the beginning white was not too sweet, and quite good, and they just got better from there. We enjoyed your other guests, and the two of you. Dear B... was graceful to fit in so nicely, and I hope we can have her Pasadena way once back in LA. O... and A... were so engaging, and you (when you had time away from the kitchen) and Henry charmed us entirely. And what a nice apartment you have. Kudos then. I think your restaurant will be a great hit!" - G.W.
