On December 1, 1906, the world’s first cinema house opened
in Paris, the Cinema Omnia Pathe. From the opening of the world’s
first cinema I found myself via a bit of logical leaping at the film
Babette’s Feast, and used the grand meal in the film as an inspiration
for the night's menu.

Comments from some of our guests:
"We really enjoyed our evening--both the excellent food and the
engaging company. It was a lot of fun, too, to read what went into the
meal's preparation on your blog. I would have written sooner, but we've
just returned from a whirlwind two days in Mendoza spent for the most
part at wineries large and small. It really is wonderful down here, and
we're jealous that you're in Argentina full-time. Good luck with Casa
SaltShaker, and we hope to come again!" - G.W.
"Amazing and fun!" - K.M.
"I know you got some bad feelings from our group, but I wanted to
let you know that I enjoyed the food. It was definitely not what we
expected, but I think we hoped it would be the feast from the movie. I
know that's not realistic for the price we paid. Don't let the comments
on ECC depress you, VA is rude about everything." - Anonymous by request
