Two hundred years ago this weekend, a theatrical production of Mother Goose nursery rhymes opened on the stage at Covent Garden. There’s lots of food imagery in Mother Goose rhymes. One of our local friends, who planned to come this evening was musing about a traditional English holiday feast. Natural combination, no?

Comments from some of our guests:

"We had a wonderful time! the Yorkshire pudding was a particular hit." - S.O.

"Once again you did a superb job, and it was a really nice night out for us.... Hope you and Henry have a happy New Year, and we look forward to seeing you on our next dinner visit." R.J.

"Thanks again for the dinner. I was particularly happy to meet the couple with whom you sat me. Private restaurants are very interesting when one is traveling. And I love the idea of a "concept" to plan a menu." - J.S.

"We had a great time and will definitely be back next we're in BA! The food was great - we especially loved the mango cucumber gazpacho and the empanada with pea-mint sorbet. Barbaro! The wines that you paired with the meal were well-chosen and delicious. Thanks for a great evening. We will definitely recommend to you all of our friends who are planning trips to BA." - M.N.

"We had a great time in Buenos Aires -- helped, in substantial part, by memorable experiences such as dinner at Casa SaltShaker. With respect to specific comments about the dinner, all I'd say is that you'd be better off figuring out how to get everyone at a single table, or have a more even split between the two tables (read: six people at each). That way, the people at the "kids table" (which is how the four people at that table took to referring to it on Friday evening), feel like they're a part of the whole. I understand, however, the limitations of the space with which you're working. Other than that, everything was great and we look forward to coming again our next time down there." - A.L.

"I thought the dinner was wonderful. How could it possibly be improved? An interesting variety of dishes. The soup was amazing, and I loved the risotto, the lemony taste, the chewy texture. The sauce on the pork was outstanding. How did you get that strong coffee taste? It was lovely, and matched the pork so well. And dessert was a cute idea. I heard one guest say she liked the macaroon tucked inside. Because I am so interested in Argentine wines, I especially enjoyed your thoughtful wine matches. You presented an interesting variety of wines, each very good and a good match with the food." - B.H.

"Very enjoyable evening. met some great people. ate some excellent food. I applaud your innovativeness and look forward to the paired wine tasting in the future when i come 'thirsty' next time!!" - D.M.

"Thanks for having us. We had an outstanding time. One of my friends did ask me to find out what the wines were that you served at dinner. Thank you very much and I will be back next time I visit Buenos Aires." - J.G.
