Casa SaltShaker

Buenos Aires, Argentina
Chef: Dan Perlman
Host: Henry Tapia

March 6, 2008

A private event hosted by an engaged couple (norteamericano and argentine) to let their families get to know each other. I won’t comment upon the interfamilial relations, other than to say that the dinner, overall, went quite well. My only instructions were “Argentine with some sort of twist” - which was left up to me to decide. No allergies, no restrictions (one person who requested fish instead of red meat, but that’s an easy substitution). Off we go…

Thoughts from some of our guests:

"Thanks for having us at Casa Saltshaker on an off night. Having the entire family together without the distraction of other tables at a restaurant or the kitchen calling at Tio M...'s was hands down a great experience. Not to mention the food and wine. Big hits for me were the gazpacho and the paired wine. I also liked the familiarity of the chimichuri. And you're right, we didn't need any more wine!" - K.H.
