It’s strange how different themes don’t necessarily interconnect in my mind sometimes. At least to me. Here I was, with the Epulum Jovis, the ancient Roman festival to the god Jupiter, on my mind, which led me to think about the infamous January Red Dinner (January 12, 1997) back in New York that, while not involving Jupiter directly, had simply used an image of that planet’s red spot as a background for the printed menu. So, I started thinking about a “red dinner” again, and it never occurred to me until around a day or so before the dinners that we’d just offered up a red dinner to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Red Hat Society. Thankfully, there’s more than enough red food to go around.

A la excelente cena, le falto el toque final, es decir…el café no acompaño la elegancia de los platos, un buen express seria el candidato. Cuando nos entregaste la cajita con la cuenta, muchos de los comensales nos sorprendimos, ya que imaginas que vendría un bombón, o algún detalle recordatorio, como una flor, o algo así.. y junto con eso, la cuenta. El papel de la adición, ya que tienes menues con precio fijo por persona, podrías imprimirlo antes de la recepción. Como ves, es poco lo criticable, y mucho lo satisfactorio. Siempre es más fácil, criticar y mejorar lo que el otro hace, a desarrollar una idea! Nos vemos en cualquier momento!" - L.I.

"I really enjoyed the dinner, the only thing that didn´t work for me so much was the gelatinized beets, just not my thing, maybe the soup could have been served a bit hotter, but it was a good soup (in a land lacking in soups as you mentioned). On the whole it was a very nice evening." - J.D.
