Okay, admittedly one of my more oddball themes, barely edging into the
category of a theme at all. You remember that French Republican Calendar?
Used by the French government for a whole twelve years in the late 1700s
and early 1800s… each day dedicated to a fruit, flower, animal,
foodstuff…? It seemed the appropriate place to turn when no other themes
grabbed me for this last weekend - between the two days, “horses” and
“impatiens”. Oh my indeed…

Comments from some of our guests:
"We all really enjoyed ourselves. The meal was great, and you did
a great job of making us feeling comfortable. A number of people at
the dinner have already recommended your place to friends. My wife
was thoroughly surprise and enjoyed the meal immensely. We will be back as
well." - W.L.
"I am finally back in the Bay Area after a wonderful time in Buenos
Aires. Your dinner was one of the highlights of our trip...the food was
wonderful and it was interesting to be able to talk with your other
guests. This will be a very special memory for me. As far as any
suggestions, I guess the only thing I can think of would be to survey the
people as to how spicy they would like their food. (I bit into a chili
pepper seed which set my mouth on fire during one of your courses).
Overall, I would recommend your dinners to anyone I know who will be
traveling to BA. Thank you again!" - C.L.
"We thoroughly enjoyed the experience with you and Henry. Dinner was
delicious and very creative. The wine pairing was wonderful. We were also
grateful that you were able to find creative ways for A... to join in the
fun. We did observe that some of our co-diners found the piquillo peppers
a bit too hot -- I guess Americans have become more used to spicy foods
than have the Argentinos and Madrileños..." - C.K.
